It describes disability-related accommodation under California law, including information supporting a request and limits on denial. Read that state source alongside the actual facts of the property.
HUD's withdrawal of older federal guidance makes the distinction between state and federal sources particularly relevant. Do not assume that withdrawal of a federal guidance document repeals a separate California rule. Equally, this guide cannot decide a dispute about a particular property.
Do not confuse housing evidence with practitioner obligations
The BBS FAQ discusses conditions for practitioners issuing emotional support dog documentation, including an evaluation and a relationship period. CRD addresses a housing provider's handling of supporting information. These are different questions, and a clinician's documentation requirement should not automatically be treated as the only evidence a housing provider may consider.
The BBS document describes the 2022 law. For a specific appointment, ask the practitioner to check the current statute and any applicable exceptions. Do not generalize its dog-specific wording into a national, all-species waiting rule.

Verify the person who would assess you

Match the evaluator's name and license type, then inspect the status and any linked details. Different professions can have different regulators; confirm the correct board if you cannot identify the record.
Tell the service where you will physically be during the appointment and whether you are moving. Ask when an assessment could occur and when documentation might be appropriate in your actual circumstances. A checkout option for fast processing does not answer those professional questions.
